YOUTH GROUP
“A school of
entrepreneurship”
Jikomboe Youth Group is
an entrepreneurial youth group founded in 2014 and registered on 4th
March 2015 as Community Based Organization (CBO) with registration number MCC/CD/CBO/10205.The
group was founded by three individuals graduated from University now the group
is comprised of more than 25 members whose main objective is to bring youth
together where they will discuss and find solutions to all challenges facing
youth such as Unemployment, Drug abuse, Hiv/Aids, Environmental conservation etc.
Mission/Vision
To empower youth
both socially and economically toward transforming the lives of youth
positively from the lives of unemployment, drug abuse, criminals, to the lives
of self-reliance and become the catalyst of changes in the society by eradicating
poverty and finding solutions to all problems facing society as whole.
Our Objectives
- · To train youth on viable income generating projects. Includes Agricultural projects such as vegetable Cultivation, Poultry ,pigs keeping, etc
- · To train youth on entrepreneurship and self-employment.
- · To educate and support youth on how to write business plan to access affordable credit from financial institutions.
- · To open an institution to educate the community about technical courses such as tailoring,welding,carpentry,shoes and sandals making, soap making, food processing and computer courses.
- · To encourage different sports as one way to bring youth together.
- · To conduct capacity building and trainings for youth.
- · To encourage environmental conservation.
What we have achieved so far
The followings are the things we have
done since we formed this organization

We have
rented a plot and planted vegetables
·
We have invested
in Sardines Business from Lake Victoria.
·
We have
established a netball team and in the process of establishing football team.
·
We train
youth on entrepreneurship and self employment.
This is just our starting point
and we believe things can change and become better. Most of the plans we have
are not yet done, this is because we are unable financially.
Problems we face
The problems we face in this group
are as follows;
- · Lack of enough fund; we are unable to implement some of the group objectives due to lack of enough fund that can be used to invest in different projects and hence enable the group to generate income.
- · Lack of the group owned land that can be used to build Offices, classes and used for agricultural projects.
- · Lack of classes and teaching materials such as Computers, projectors and machines for tailoring ,carpentry.etc
Future
of Jikomboe Youth Group
- We are planning to have enough agricultural land to help us have well training ground and establish different agricultural projects and building offices.
- We are also planning to improve and add more and modern machines for teaching and office use to suit the modern world and technologies both.
- We are planning to open SACCOSS special for youth with easy accessibility to credit for those who have accomplished entrepreneurial studies.
- We are planning to open an institution to educate the community about technical courses such as tailoring,welding,carpentry,shoes and sandals making, soap making, food processing and computer courses.
Volunteering opportunities
It is our prayers that we have well-wishers or volunteers to
support us financially and materially so that we can be able to meet our
target. It is our commitment to care for the youth and society as a whole.
We are kindly
